R&A Continues to Learn at Junior Achievement

by Juan Aguilar

Several R&A employees attended the NAPFA West Region Symposium held on July 20, 2016.

Steve Doster, R&A’s Financial Planning Manager, spearheads the San Diego chapter and organized the local event.

The symposium was held in Denver, CO and was streamed via simulcasts in San Diego, CA and other locations. The following topics were discussed during the simulcast:
• Positioning Your Practice for an Aging Clientele
• Late Stage College Planning Strategies
• End of Life Planning
• Avoiding Identity Theft

At R&A,employees are encouraged to attend these types of events to stay up to date on current trends and to add value to our clients.

The location of our study group is worth mentioning. Chris Mathes, Implementation Manager at Junior Achievement, assisted when we came to him seeking space for the simulcast. Chris offered the space and was more than helpful.

Junior Achievement Finance Park is a state of the art facility that began October 2015.

The program’s mission is to teach high school students the intricacies of renting vs buying, budgeting for: entertainment, food, travel, utilities, credit cards, clothes, among other life skills. The program starts in the classroom and ends with the simulation at Junior Achievement Finance Park. Several R&A employees have signed up to volunteer. If you’d like to learn more about Junior Achievement, please contact Chris Mathes directly at CMathes@jasandiego.org or via phone 619-6682-5155 ext. 113.
